Achraf Talhaoui

My name is Achraf Talhaoui and I am Managing Partner at Qando. Together with Mark van Lieverloo, I founded Qando in 2010.

I studied both International Organisation Communications -French and Organisation Sciences with a master in Marketing. I found myself in the procurement business more or less by accident. 

I am already working for 12 years as a strategic consultant for procurement and procurement software. My experience is coming from multinationals (Akzo-Nobel, ING, Robeco, Univé, VGZ) semi-public (Dutch Railways, ProRail, Essent), public organisations (Dutch Authority for Tax, number of Dutch Ministries) and health care organisations (e.g. Catharina Hospital, UMC Utrecht and Gelderse Vallei).

My procurement experience is mainly in the field of IT-sourcing and contract management. Also, I have a track record for analysing procurement functions and procurement software implementations. 

To give something back to the procurement community I was a board member of Young Procurement Professionals (YPP) for five years. YPP is the community for young, talented procurement professionals in the Netherlands. I was a juror of the Procurement Young Talent Award of NEVI & YPP. Also, I wrote a number of articles and published a Dutch book: "De professional op het witte paard", SDU Uitgevers (2010).

My interest lies in complex procurement challenges on a strategic level and challenges when implementing procurement software.

Besides the procurement focus, I like come up with new business ideas and I have the ambition for Qando to grow into an respected position in the niche market of IT-procurement. At last, I like to travel, enjoy good food en solid reading time together with my wife and three kids.
